 Vietnam has enough elements to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector , with tourism potential and rich diversity .
In 2008, Vietnam welcomed 4.218 million international passengers , this figure in 2009 was 3.8 million , down 11 % from the previous year . In 2012, the number of international visitors to Vietnam is about 6.8 million , domestic travel to vietnam tourists reached 32.5 million . [ 2 ] tourism revenue in 2009 reached Vietnam from 68,000 to 70,000 billion, [ 3 ] 160.000 billion in 2012 [ 2 ] . Tourism contributes 5 % to the GDP of Vietnam [ 4 ]
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , the expected number of visitors in 2013 was 7.2 million international arrivals, travel (an increase of 5.15 % compared to 2012 ) , serving 35 million domestic visitors ( up 7 , 69 % compared with 2012) , the total revenue from tourists reached 190.000 billion (up 18.75 % compared to 2012 ) [ 5 ] and in 2015 Vietnam's tourism industry will attract 7-8 million passengers international , 32-35 million domestic tourists , in 2020 the corresponding figure is 11-12 million international visitors ; 45-48 million domestic tourists . Revenue from tourism is expected to reach U.S. $ 18-19 billion by 2020. [ 6 ]
However, TRAVEL TO VIETNAM  tourism industry for many years , also being alerted to the accident " slash cut " , visitors bullying , poor infrastructure and poor service quality , poor management , make an impression bad with tourists .
